The distribution of mannose-6-phosphate receptors changes from newborns to adults in rat liver

► We confirmed that CI-MPR and CD-MPR have a non overlapping distribution in rat liver. ► CI-MPR is located in part at the plasma membrane in liver of newborns. ► Distribution of CD-MPR changes slightly,with scarce location at the plasma membrane. ► Distribution of the lysosomal enzyme NAG is similar to that of CI-MPR. ► CI-MPR may function in the plasmalemma of liver cells at early steps of development.
