SREBP-1c regulates glucose-stimulated hepatic clusterin expression

► This is the first report to show nutrient-regulated clusterin expression. ► Clusterin expression in hepatocytes was increased by high glucose concentration. ► SREBP-1c is directly involved in the transcriptional activation of clusterin by glucose. ► This glucose-stimulated activation process is mediated through tandem E-box motifs.
