Acute suppression of apo B secretion by insulin occurs independently of MTP

► Over-expression of MTP resulted in increased apo B secretion. ► MTP over-expression failed to blunt insulin inhibition of hepatic apo B secretion. ► Insulin did not alter hepatic MTP mRNA or lipid transfer activity in vivo.
