Localization and functional requirement of yeast Na+/H+ exchanger, Nhx1p, in the endocytic and protein recycling pathway

► Nhx1p is localized to the trans-Golgi/TGN, endocytic, and recycling compartments. ► The dynamics of Nhx1p-residing compartments partly depend on actin cytoskeleton. ► Loss of Nhx1p leads to accumulation of some organelle markers in prevacuolar region. ► Nhx1p is required for protein trafficking in the endocytic and recycling pathway.
