Anisomycin treatment enhances TRAIL-mediated apoptosis in renal carcinoma cells through the down-regulation of Bcl-2, c-FLIP(L) and Mcl-1

► Anisomycin sensitizes Caki cells to TRAIL-induced apoptosis. ► Anisomycin down-regulates Bcl-2 expression at the transcriptional level. ► Down-regulation of Bcl-2 contributes to anisomycin-mediated TRAIL-induced apoptosis. ► Anisomycin decreases protein stability of Mcl-1 and c-FLIP(L). ► Anisomycin-mediated Mcl-1 and c-FLIP(L) down-regulation contributes to apoptosis.
