Application of gas chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometry to the determination of sterol components in biological samples in consideration of the ionization mode

► Ionization mode is of importance for GC-MS/MS. ► Oxysterols can be analyzed with high sensitivity by chemical ionization MS/MS. ► The side-chain oxysterols gave best results with positive chemical ionization.
