A novel pro-apoptotic effector lactaptin inhibits tumor growth in mice models

► Sensitivity of mouse cancer cells to recombinant lactaptin (RL2) were tested. ► Recombinant lactaptin analog induced apoptotic death of cancer cells. ► RL2 suppressed the growth of sensitive tumors and metastases in vivo. ► RL2 possessed an additive antitumor effect with cyclophosphamide.
