Identification of bone morphogenetic protein 9 (BMP9) as a novel profibrotic factor in vitro

Summarizing, this is the first study that accurately identifies BMP9 as a profibrotic factor in fibroblasts that promotes ECM protein expression through ALK1 and ALK5 receptors.
