Diagnostic power of the mid-regional pro-atrial natriuretic peptide for heart failure patients with dyspnea: A meta-analysis

► We performed a meta-analysis to estimate the diagnostic power of MR-proANP for HF. ► Five studies with over all sample size of 973 HF patients and 1584 non-HF patients were included. ► MR-proANP had a diagnostic sensitivity of 0.92 and a specificity of 0.64. ► MR-proANP was a particularly strong specific diagnostic marker for HF in patients with dyspnea. ► The combination use of MR-proANP and BNP/NT-proBNP may improve diagnostic power.
