S-Nitroso-N-acetylcysteine induces de-differentiation of activated hepatic stellate cells and promotes antifibrotic effects in vitro

► We evaluate the antifibrotic effects of SNAC, an NO donor, on hepatic stellate cells. ► SNAC induced conversion of myofibroblast-like phenotype into quiescent cells. ► SNAC modulated some genes related with fibrogenesis in murine hepatic stellate cells.
