Effect of harmane, an endogenous β-carboline, on learning and memory in rats

► Harmane did not affect the number of errors and latency of reference memory. ► Harmane's effects on the errors of working memory was higher at 5 and 7.5 mg/kg. ► The latency was changed significantly at 7.5 mg/kg in comparison to control. ► Harmane significantly decreased the retention latency in passive avoidance test.
