Effects of pregnanolone and flunitrazepam on the retention of response sequences in rats

► Pregnanolone disrupted retention on a repeated acquisition and performance task. ► The effects of pregnanolone on retention were similar to those of flunitrazepam. ► Flumazenil attenuated the disruptions produced by flunitrazepam on retention. ► Flunitrazepam potentiated the disruptions produced by pregnanolone. ► Disruptions in retention produced by pregnanolone may be GABAA mediated.
