Biochemical and molecular changes in response to aluminium-stress in highbush blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L.)

► We evaluated the aluminium-stress in contrastant genotypes of blueberry. ► Bluegold (sensitive) showed root injury compared to Brigitta (resistance). ► Brigitta had a greater ability to control oxidative stress under Al-toxicity. ► Brigitta has better antioxidative and physiological properties. ► The expression of GST and ALDH genes was greater in leaves than in roots.
