Expression of biologically active human colony stimulating factor-1 in Pichia pastoris

► CSF-1 was expressed with high yield in P. pastoris after 2 days with 1-2% methanol in the media. ► The vast majority (82%) of all proteins in the culture media was CSF-1. ► Biologically activity was confirmed by stimulation of receptor and also cell proliferation.
