Cellulose affinity purification of fusion proteins tagged with fungal family 1 cellulose-binding domain

► Fusion proteins of RFP with fungal family 1 CBDs were expressed in Pichia pastoris. ► They could be purified by single-step cellulose affinity purification in high yield. ► The recovery was increased in the presence of ammonium sulfate. ► The bound fusion proteins could be easily and quickly eluted with water. ► This system appears to be suitable for large-scale purification of target proteins.
