Optimized production of scygonadin in Pichia pastoris and analysis of its antimicrobial and antiviral activities

► The expression conditions of recombinant scygonadin in Pichia pastoris were optimized. ► A high yield of 70 mg/L recombinant scygonadin was achieved. ► The recombinant scygonadin exhibited high antimicrobial activity. ► The recombinant scygonadin showed inhibition on WSSV replication in vitro.
