Comparison of two expression systems using COS7 cells and yeast cells for expression of heart/muscle-type carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1

► Heart/muscle-type isozyme of CPT1 (CPT1b) was expressed in COS and yeast cells. ► The amount of the expressed CPT1b was larger in COS cells than in yeast cells. ► The estimated specific activity of CPT1b was higher in yeast cells than in COS cells.
