Crystal structure analysis of the translation factor RF3 (release factor 3)

► We present the crystal structure of RF3 complexed with GDP at a resolution of 1.8 Å. ► We present the crystal structure of RF3 complexed with ppGpp at a resolution of 3.0 Å. ► ppGpp decelerates the recycling of RF1 by RF3. ► RF3 switches between the active GDP-bound form and the less active ppGpp-bound form.
