Construction of a conditional lethal Salmonella mutant via genetic recombination using the ara system and asd gene

► We developed a conditional lethal Salmonella mutant construct. ► Recombinant vectors were prepared via fusion at translational level between araC ParaBAD and the asd gene. ► Strains carrying recombinant vectors are unable to survive ex vivo. ► Growth inhibition of the strains was demonstrated by arabinose depletion in M9 minimal medium.
