Cloning and expression analysis of the transforming growth factor-beta receptors type 1 and 2 in the rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss

► Rainbow trout TGF-β type I and II receptors have been cloned. ► They have all the features of serine/threonine transmembrane receptor kinases. ► Their in vivo expression has been studied and is highest in muscle and brain tissues. ► LPS is a strong inducer for both receptors in RTgill cells. ► rIFN-γ modulated the receptors in inverse directions in head kidney macrophages.
