Curcumin induces a nuclear factor-erythroid 2-related factor 2-driven response against oxidative and nitrative stress after praziquantel treatment in liver fluke-infected hamsters

► Praziquantel causes a burst of parasite antigen and resulting oxidative stress. ► Curcumin was given to O. viverrini-infected hamsters with praziquantel treatment. ► Curcumin induced Nrf2 expression and suppression of NF-κB-mediated pathways. ► Thus curcumin exerts a protective effect on oxidative stress caused by praziquantel.
