Co-expression of reporter genes in the widespread pathogen Eimeria tenella using a double-cassette expression vector strategy

► Co-expression of EYFP and RFP can be observed in double expression-cassette vector transfected Eimeria tenella. ► The signal sequence of GRA8 of Toxoplasma gondii targets RFP to parasitophorous vacuoles and the cavity of sporocysts. ► Substitution of rfp with heteroantigen gene will encourage the development of live vector vaccines using transgenic Eimeria.
