La cofradía de la Santa Veracruz y los planos arquitectónicos más antiguos de San Luis Potosí. Un ejemplo del corporativismo novohispano a través de la arquitectura

ResumenEl presente artículo discurre por tres ejes fundamentales. El primero de ellos es aportar información obtenida de fuentes primarias, referente a la cofradía de la Santa Veracruz de San Luis Potosí, lo que sirve para dar a conocer y analizar por primera vez los planos arquitectónicos más antiguos (1620) de San Luis Potosí, mismos que hasta ahora estaban inéditos. A la luz de estos planos y su interpretación, se mostrará su relación con el tratado de arquitectura de Sebastián Serlio y de cómo el lenguaje clásico de la arquitectura, a través de modelos serlianos, fue parte del repertorio constructivo del San Luis Potosí de finales del siglo XVI y albores del XVII.

This article goes through three main axes. The first is to provide information from primary sources concerning the brotherhood of Santa Veracruz in San Luis Potosi. To present and analyze for the first time the oldest architectural planes (1620) of San Luis Potosi, which have hitherto remained unpublished. In light of these planes and their interpretation, their relationship with the architectural treatise of Sebastian Serlio is displayed, and thus we can establish how the classical language of architecture trough Serlio’s models was part of the constructive repertoire of San Luis Potosi of the late sixteenth and early seventeenth century
