Modeling methane emission via the infinite moving average process

► Efficient and robust model of the methane emission from sedge-grass marsh is given. ► Infinite moving average process with Pareto tailed exceedances is used. ► Data are possessing a clear heavy-tail pattern in residuals. ► Robustness is important since outliers can easily occur in a methane emission data. ► Proof of the weak consistency of t-Hill estimator for dependent data is given.
