Since γH2AX was firstly found in 1998, it has been one of the most important scientific topics and research tools in the related scientific fields. At present, a series of advanced analytical techniques were developed, which exhibited a quite attractive application prospect in the area of life science and medical science. This paper reviews the latest progress about γH2AX in terms of molecular mechanism of phosphorylation/dephosphorylation, the development of testing techniques, and the related applications.
As a novel biomarker of DSBs, γH2AX can be determined by varieties of technologies at pressent, such as gel electrophoresis (GE), immunochemiluminescence assay (ICLA) and liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS). γH2AX assay has already been widely used for the toxicological evaluation and clinical medicine evaluation.Figure optionsDownload as PowerPoint slide
