Two-dimensional nano-gold particles monolayers were prepared on indium-tin oxide electrodes using Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique. Surface topographies of these monolayers were characterized using scanning electron microscope. Experimental results showed that the nano-gold particles monolayer was dispersive, regular, and even when the surface pressure for depositing this film on electrode surface was 28 mN m−1. The myoglobin membranes, which were fabricated using the LB technique, were transferred onto the electrodes modified with a layer of two-dimensional nano-gold particles. Direct electrochemistry of the myoglobin film was studied. The results indicated that nano-gold particles could efficiently accelerate electron transfer of myoglobin, and the electron transfer rate was calculated to be 1.415 s−1.
