• Preparation of nanosized CoFe2O4 system by simple method. On other hand, preparation of magnetic CoFe2O4/PEVA composites.
• Characterization of CoFe2O4 nanoparticles and CoFe2O4/PEVA composites by different techniques to confirm the formation of single CoFe2O4 phase and CoFe2O4/PEVA composites.
• Determination of the magnetic properties of the as prepared systems.
• Using the SEM and EDX to determine the morphology and chemical composition of the as prepared systems.
• The possibility of the control in the magnetic properties of CoFe2O4/PEVA composites.
Various techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron micrographs (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) were used to investigate the structural, morphological and magnetic properties of spinel cobalt ferrite/poly(ethylene-co-vinyl alcohol) or CoFe2O4/PEVA nanocomposites. XRD enabled us to determine the structural parameters of CoFe2O4/PEVA composites. Nanocrystalline CoFe2O4 spinel were uniformly distributed throughout the matrix of PEVA. EDX measurements showed the concentrations of O, Co, C and Fe species involved in the as prepared composite. The magnetization and coercivity of these composites were changed according to the ferrite content.
