► Series of novel fluoroquinolone dimers were synthesized as potential antibacterial agents. ► A stability indicating HPLC method was developed and validated to determine the dimers. ► Significant degradation of dimers was observed in oxidative stress conditions. ► Reference compounds were obtained by purifying crude dimers using preparative LC.
