Synthesis and photophysical properties of three (multi)branched planar molecules

► Three thiophenevinyl substituted truxene compounds TS1, TS2 and TS3 have been prepared. ► Their optophysical properties have been examined. ► The number of branches has no influence on the position of the absorption and fluorescence maxima. ► The two-photon absorption cross-section of TS3 is several times that of TS1 and TS2.
