Spirally oriented Au microelectrode array sensor for detection of Hg (II)

► A simple and reproducible carbon microelectrode array has been initially prepared. ► Each microelectrode was optimally arranged to avoid diffusive interference. ► It was used as a frame to build a gold (Au) microelectrode array sensor. ► Au was electrochemically deposited on the individual carbon electrodes. ► Highly sensitive detection of Hg2+ was possible using the proposed sensor.
