Half-sandwich iridium complexes—Synthesis and applications in catalysis

A brief summary of the organometallic chemistry of half-sandwich iridium complexes accomplished in the last a few years is given, with emphasis on chiral-at-metal complexes, the synthetic protocols employed and the stereochemistry involved in relevant transformations. The applications of these complexes in catalysis are highlighted by selected examples.
