Porphyrin lanthanide complexes for NIR emission

► The porphyrin chromophore is acting as the sensitizer for NIR Ln emitters. ► The Ln cations are either within the porphyrin cavity or coordinated by an external coordination site. ► The photophysical properties of the resulting assemblies are reported.
