Anion selectivity of Zn-salophen receptors: Influence of ligand substituents

Four zinc(II) complexes that differ on the electronic properties of their substituents on para position have been used in molecular recognition processes of anions. The data indicate that substituents indeed can influence the properties of the zinc-metal salophen complexes.
