Synthesis, X-ray crystal structure and biological evaluation of zinc(II)-dichlorido complexes with 9-deazahypoxathine derivatives

A series of mononuclear zinc(II) complexes containing 6-oxo-9-deazapurine derivatives (Ln) of the composition [Zn(Ln)2Cl2]·Solv was synthesized and thoroughly characterized, including a single crystal X-ray analysis. Complexes were studied for their in vitro cytotoxicity against three human cancer cell lines (PC3, LNCaP and A2780) and in vitro anti-inflammatory activity using the lipopolysaccharide-activated macrophage-like THP-1 cell model.
