Syntheses of mixed chelate copper(II) complexes containing β-ketoaminato and diamine ligands: Solvatochromism study

► Three mixed-chelate complexes type [Cu(β-ketoamine)(diamine)]ClO4 were prepared. ► The complexes are soluble in organic solvents and exhibit positive solvatochromism. ► Their solvatochromism were tested using SMLR computational method. ► The DN parameter of solvent has the dominate contribution on solvatochromism. ► Structure of [Cu(APO)(dmben)]ClO4 was investigated by DFT calculation.
