• Synthesis of a new phosphoric triamide and its organotin(IV) complex.
• Two symmetrically independent molecules in structure 1.
• A five-coordinated tin(IV) with a distorted trigonal bipyramidal configuration for 2.
• 3D networks formed by N–H⋯O, N–H⋯Cl and C–H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
• Preparation of nanoparticles (of 15–20 nm size) and a spherical morphology.
A new phosphoric triamide 4-NO2C6H4NHP(O)(NC4H8O)2 (1) and its organotin(IV) complex SnCl(C6H5)3[4-NO2C6H4NHP(O)(NC4H8O)2] (2) were synthesized and characterized by 31P, 1H, 13C NMR, IR spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The crystal structures of compounds 1 and 2 were determined by X-ray crystallography. Both compounds crystallize in monoclinic crystal system with P21/n space group. The structure of 1 contains two symmetrically independent molecules while for 2 only one independent molecule is present with a five-coordinated tin(IV) in a distorted trigonal bipyramidal configuration. Strong intermolecular N–H⋯O and N–H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds together with weak intermolecular C–H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect molecules of 1 and 2 into 3D networks. Both compounds were also prepared as nanoparticles of the size 15–20 nm and a spherical morphology, as confirmed by SEM micrographs.
Nanoparticles of phosphoric triamide (1) and its organotin(IV) complex (2) were synthesized. Structure 1 contains two symmetrically independent molecules and a distorted trigonal bipyramidal tin(IV) is observed in 2.Figure optionsDownload as PowerPoint slide
