Transformations of P-chalcogenide precursors with a hydrated metal salt

The preparation, characterisation and X-ray structures of the three Ni(II) salts [Ni{ArP(OH)S2}2(thf)2] (1) (Ar = 4-anisyl), [Ni{PhP(OH)Se2}2(thf)2] (2) and [Ni{P(OH)2S2}2(thf)4] (3) are reported.

Nucleophilic fragmentation reactions of neutral P-chalcogenides with alkali metal salts and subsequent metatheses with hydrated transition metal salts are illustrated by a case study which produced [Ni{ArP(OH)S2}2(thf)2] (1) (Ar = 4-anisyl), [Ni{PhP(OH)Se2}2(thf)2] (2) and [Ni{P(OH)2S2}2(thf)4] (3).Figure optionsDownload as PowerPoint slide
