Assembly of ethylzincate compounds into supramolecular structures

► Two Lewis base free trialkylzincates have been crystallised as supramolecular structures. ► A novel oxide-centred potassium zincate was formed in the presence of adventitious water. ► Sodium triethylzincate was found to metallate benzene.
