Chemistry of vinylidene complexes. XVI. Crystal and molecular structure of the novel tetranuclear μ2-μ3-bis-vinylidene complex (η2-dppe)PdMn(μ3-CCHPh)PdMn(μ-CCHPh)(CO)4Cp2

The reaction between Cp(CO)2MnPd(μ-CCHPh)(PPh3)2 and dppe gave (η2-dppe)PdMn(μ3-CCHPh)PdMn(μ-CCHPh)(CO)4Cp2. It is the first crystallographically characterized complex containing the Pd-Mn-Pd-Mn chain and two bridging vinylidene ligands with different types of coordination: the symmetric μ2-coordination and μ3-coordination.
