The O-specific polysaccharide structure from the lipopolysaccharide of the Gram-negative bacterium Raoultella terrigena

The structure of the repeating unit of the O-specific polysaccharide from the lipopolysaccharide of the enterobacterium Raoultella terrigena was determined by means of chemical and spectroscopical methods and was found to be a linear tetrasaccharide containing a cyclic acetal of pyruvic acid (Pyr) as depicted below.Figure optionsDownload as PowerPoint slide
