Study on adsorption performance of conjugated microporous polymers for hydrogen and organic solvents: The role of pore volume

► We prepared conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) by poly(phenylene butadiynylene). ► The molar ratio of monomers has a great influence on surface area and porosity. ► Increasing total pore volume will increase adsorption ability for organic solvents. ► Hydrogen sorption ability can be improved by increasing the micropore volume. ► We provide guidance for design of new CMPs with different porosities as absorbent.
