Crystal structures and fluorescence properties of two 2D MnII/CdII trimellitic complexes containing terpyridine

Two novel isostructual MnII/CdII trimellitic complexes with 2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine ligand are described, which exhibit two-dimensional rhombic network based on the metallic dimers and Htma2− anions with the tpy ligands in void. Fluorescence spectra exhibit the π - π* transition of two organic ligands.
