Synthesis, spectral characterizations and biological studies of transition metal mixed ligand complexes: X-ray crystal structures of [Cu(oda)(Bipy)(H2O)]·4H2O and [VO(oda)(Bipy)]·2H2O

► The present work describes synthesis and characterization of some ternary complexes. ► Crystal structures of Cu(II) and V(IV) complexes indicated a distorted octahedral geometry. ► The extensive H-bonding and π-π interactions in these complexes results in a 3D network. ► The complexes were screened against some bacteria and fungi. ► The SOD mimic activity of Cu(II) complex was also assessed.
