Comparison of peroxides used for cross-linking ultra high molecular weight polyethylene

The selection of the proper peroxide is essential to achieve efficient cross-linking and consolidation in ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). This study explores the use of various peroxides for cross-linking UHMWPE. 2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di-(t-butyl-peroxy)hexyne-3 (peroxide 130) was selected as the best peroxide for cross-linking.
