A 2-dimensional cadmium(II) coordination polymer with the unique 4-fold interpenetrated (4, 4) layered structure from a long bridging ligand

► A long organic ligand has been used in the construction of one 2D cadmium coordination polymer. ► It possesses a unique 4-fold 2D → 2D parallel interpenetration network based on the (4, 4) sheet. ► It has been fully characterized by IR, EA, PXRD, TG. Fluorescent property has also been determined.
