Thermodynamic determination of van der Waals radii of metals

The van der Waals radii of metals are calculated by using Vinet–Ferrante EOS, thermodynamic and structural characteristics of metals under negative pressures or heating up to boiling points that leads to bond rupture and a formation of free atoms.
