New arylhydrazones of β-diketones and their optical and thermal properties

► Two new arylhydrazones of β-diketones (AHBDs) have been synthesized and fully characterized. ► Solvatochromic, thermal and photoluminescence properties of these and related AHBD have been studied and analyzed. ► The relationship between the structure of AHBD and their optical properties is discussed.
