Study of glass formation in the Sb2O3-PbO-MnO ternary system

► Vitreous systems based on antimony oxide Sb2O3 have been investigated. ► Influence of the MnO substitution on the mechanical properties has been studied. ► Residual surface impression is observed after the indentor withdrawal. ► Infrared and UV transmission spectrum depend on MnO concentration. ► Interest of MnO leads to optimized glasses for various applications.
