New process for synthesis of ZnO thin films: Microstructural, optical and electrical characterization

► Novel method of synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles. ► ZnO exhibits hexagonal wurtzite crystal structure. ► The room temperature electrical conductivity of ZnO is of 10−6 to 10−7 (Ω cm)−1. ► Optical studies show ZnO has high absorption coefficient (104 cm−1).
