Influence of aging on damping of the magnesium-aluminium-zinc series

Within this aging time range damping and hardness went into saturation that was accelerated by higher aging temperature. Damping and hardness behaviour could be attributed to precipitation. The influence of precipitation on damping behaviour was explained in the framework of the dislocation string model of Granato and Lücke.
